  • How to fry fish in a pan?

It takes only 3-4 minutes to cook a fish in a frying pan. Cooking time depends on the size and thickness of the fish. To perfectly fry fish in a pan, follow these steps:
    1) A non-stick frying pan is a good choice for beginners to cook a fish, but a cast iron pan is highly recommended if you want a crispy skin fish.
    2) Add just enough cooking oil to your preference into a pan and pre-heat on medium-high heat. Remember, you need only that much oil to shallow fry fish.
    3) Once the oil shimmers and is hot, carefully place the fish in the pan, skin-side down (if it has skin). Fry on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown on medium heat. You should see and feel a crispier fish from the outside when touched with a fish spatula. Please note that thicker fillets might need longer, while thinner fillets will cook quicker.
    4) Once cooked, remove the fish from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
